“Are you interested in having an impact on the quality of teaching, usage of the student unions money, expanding your networks, want to get new friends or get hands-on experience from running a middle-sized organization? If the answer to even one of the questions was yes, you should apply to the Representative Council. Even more if you got more than one yes answers.
The Council decides from the usage of the student unions money and decides the guidelines for the daily operations. This happens by accepting all the documents relating to economy, operations, rules and guidelines. The Council also gives the freedom of responsibility and chooses the board and student representatives.
At the minimum the operations of the Council takes few hours per month, there are usually one or two meetings or evening schools every month. Participation via online is usually also possible. For more active members there are a lot of different possibilities to participate in different kind of things, for example in some projects with the board.”
– Jere Kallionpää, member of the Council of Representatives 2017
