The Laurea University of Applied Sciences Students’ Union, Laureamko, is organising elections to the Representative Council from 28 October to 4 November 2026.

The Representative Council holds the highest decision-making authority within the Students’ Union. For example, the Representative Council approves the student union’s annual budget, elects the Executive Board and decides on the broad policies guiding the student union’s activities.

In the elections, 15 full members and a maximum of 15 deputy members will be elected to the Representative Council for the year 2027. The official working language of the Representative Council is Finnish, but English is also used at meetings where necessary. The elections will be conducted via electronic voting between 28 October and 4 November 2026.

All members of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences Student Union (Laureamko) who have paid their membership fee for the autumn term of 2026 by 9 October 2026 at 15.00 are eligible to stand as candidates.

Candidates shall form electoral alliances comprising between 1 and 15 candidates. Candidates may join existing electoral alliances or form a new one. Each electoral alliance must appoint a representative, who may also be a person from outside the alliance. The representative of the electoral alliance completes the notification of the alliance’s formation. Each candidate completes their own nomination form, stating which electoral alliance they belong to. If a candidate does not join any existing electoral alliance, they form their own one-person electoral alliance and are deemed to act as the representative of their own electoral alliance. A candidate may belong to only one electoral alliance.

Electoral alliances may form electoral groups. There is no upper limit on the number of electoral alliances that may belong to a single electoral group; however, an electoral group may comprise no more than 30 candidates. An electoral alliance or an individual candidate may belong to only one electoral group. A representative must be appointed for each electoral group to complete the notification of the group’s formation.

Candidate forms and notifications of the formation of electoral alliances and groups must be completed using the online form by 15:00 on 9 October 2026.

All members of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences Student Union (Laureamko) who have paid their membership fee for the autumn term 2026 by 12.00 noon on 19 October 2026 at the latest are eligible to vote in the elections.

The Central Election Committee will confirm the electoral roll (list of eligible voters) at its meeting on 20 October 2026 at 4.00 pm. The electoral roll will be available for inspection at the Student Union’s central office in room B507 on the Tikkurila campus of Laurea University of Applied Sciences from 20 October 2026 until the end of the elections. An appointment must be made in advance to view the electoral roll. Please arrange a time by sending an email to [email protected].

Requests for corrections to the electoral roll must be submitted by 12.00 noon on 27 October 2026. Requests for corrections must be submitted in writing to [email protected].
