Laureamko is looking for a candidate for the 2026 OLL Board! Do you want to promote student well-being through physical activity? Are you interested in influencing higher education institutions, local and national decision makers to increase opportunities for higher education students physical activity and well-being? Do you want to learn about both specialist work and lobbying?
The Board of the Finnish Students’ Sports Federation (OLL) will be elected for the year 2026 at the Federation Assembly. The meeting is usually held in October and the location will be specified closer to the meeting. Laureamko wants Laurea’s students’ voices to be heard in our umbrella organisation’s board and therefore we are looking for a candidate for the OLL board. The working language of the OLL Board is Finnish, but you can also participate in the discussion in Swedish.
Activities of OLL
The OLL board consists of a chairperson, 1-2 vice-chairperson, 1-2 board members. In total, 3-5 people will be elected to the board. The term of office of the Board will start on 1.1.2026 and end on 31.12.2026. Training for the position will already take place in December and accommodation for those coming from further away will be paid for by OLL.
The primary role of the OLL Board, like other associations, is to implement the OLL’s action plan and strategy and to act in accordance with the OLL’s guiding documents. Board work includes lobbying, i.e. meeting and influencing various stakeholders such as MPs, their assistants, political parties, sports and youth representatives for the benefit of UAS students. Board members are expected to familiarise themselves with background materials, follow current discussions and communicate about OLL activities. They will be supported by a total of six OLL staff members.
How to apply as a candidate?
The application period is open from 22 April to 27 May 2025 and Laureamko will elect its candidate to the SAMOK Board of Directors at the Representative Council meeting on 27 May 2025. The student union will brief the selected candidate and provide campaign support. You can read more about running for candidacy on the OLL website.
We expect the successful candidate to:
- Studying at Laurea at the time of application
- Commitment to campaigning before the OLL General Assembly
- Be able to work in Finnish
- Familiarity with OLL’s activities
We hope that the person selected will have:
- Commitment to Laureamko’s values and political programme
- An interest in student welfare and sports advocacy
- Knowledge and experience in advocacy
- Membership of Laureamko
- Knowledge of student union activities
