Laureamko, the Student Union of Laurea University of Applied Sciences, has appointed Jenna Rautionaho Master of Business as its new Advocacy Specialist.

“It’s a pleasure to return to the field of student advocacy and join the Laureamko team. I’m really looking forward to getting started, tackling the challenges students face, and getting to know the Laureamko community!”, says Jenna Rautionaho

Rautionaho has extensive experience in the student movement through her roles on the boards of the National Union of University Students in Finland (SYL) and the Student Union of the University of Turku (TYY). She has also worked in public affairs consulting and at the European Parliament.

“Jenna’s passionate commitment to advocacy and her extensive experience on local, national, and international levels made a strong impression on us. We’re thrilled to have her insights and expertise strengthening our student union’s advocacy work,” says Laureamko Executive Director Aleksi Niemi.

Laureamko’s previous advocacy specialist, Linda Lindgren, has moved on to become the executive director of Metka, the student union at Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Laureamko thanks Linda for her important work on behalf of Laurea students and congratulates the Metka student union on an excellent recruitment.

Laureamko’s advocacy specialist is responsible for the entirety of student union’s advocacy, which include, educational development, student well-being, monitoring national and international affairs, and influencing city policy. Rautionaho will begin as a specialist on 29 September 2025.
