Are you interested in developing Student Well-being services and operations and bringing up Student voices in the area of Student Well-being? Every year the Student Union of the Laurea University of Applied Sciences Laureamko searches Student Representatives to represent student voices in different decision bodies inside of Laurea.

Student Representatives are searched for the following Groups

  • Laurea Development Group for Student Well-being (1 representative)

What does the Development Group for Student Well-being do?

The Development Group monitors and assesses student well-being and ability to study and supports their promotion. The group meets when necessary, approximately 6-8 times throughout the year. Please, note that the Group meets only during the Office Hours (8.00-16.00).

Acting as a student representative

Applicants are required to commit to communicating with the student union and participating in student representative training. Student representatives are expected to be active in gathering and utilizing opportunities to bring student feedback to the forefront. It is considered an advantage if the applicant is able to commit to the group’s activities for the entire calendar year. Membership in the student union, studying in the degree programmes taught in English and a knowledge of International Students’ situation are also considered an advantage. We hope that applicants have a genuine interest in the group’s topic and are motivated to take on the task. The names and email addresses of those selected will be published on the Laureamko website.

You can apply for credits for the skills you have acquired, which you can include in your degree as elective courses or complete as so-called extra-curricular studies. You can read more about credits for active participation, how to apply for them, and the requirements on our website. Learning and development are supported by the training courses offered by Laureamko, which provide additional content for the portfolio required to apply for credits.

This is how you can apply to be a student representative

Applications are open until the Board meeting. Student representatives will be selected and confirmed at the Laureamko Board meeting on March 5, 2026, and confirmation of selection will be received no later than week 11.

Student Representatives will be elected for the calendar year 2026. You can apply to be a Student Representative via this form. On the form you can fill up your information and tell about your interest to be a representative and your possible previous experience from similar positions. You do not need previous experience, because we will do a hand-over and train Student Representatives throughout the year.
