Student reps
in a nutshell
There is a large group of student representatives – reps or hallopeds for short – in Laureamko. Their mission is to make students’ voices heard in all levels of Laurea UAS. Be it the Campus Restaurant Committee or Board of Directors, it can be sure that we are there.
Any Laurea student can apply as student representative.
Student representation in Laurea
There are several working groups in Laurea UAS. Most of the groups have student representation. Some working gropus focus on a single degree pogramme and others influence whole Laurea.
By taking part in planning and development work the students have a chance to influence in the development of their own education and study environment and also ensuring the quality of the studies.
The sooner matters can be influenced in, the easier it is to get your own message through.
Depending on the working group the student reps are chosen by the council of representatives or the board of the student union. The student rep positions that are open for every student to apply can be found on Laureamko’s webpage and often times also on the student intra Link.
