Student Union of Laurea University of Applied Sciences is looking for student representatives for Laurea level groups.
Board of Examiners
Laureamko is seeking one full member and one alternate member for the Board of Examiners. The application period for the position is 22.11.-8.12.2024. The term of office of the student representatives is one year. The term of office starts on 1.1.2025 and ends on 31.12.2025. Applicants will be contacted separately about the date of the decision, as the student representatives on the Board of Examiners are decided and confirmed by the Council of Representatives.
The Board of Examiners is responsible for dealing with requests for the correction of academic records. The role of student representatives is to ensure that the student voice is heard in the decision-making process. The Board of Examiners is appointed by the Laurea Board of Directors. It is chaired by a person appointed by the Rector, who must be a lecturer or senior lecturer, and consists of one member of teaching staff and one student. The duties, appointment and members of the Board are laid down in Article 19 of the Universities of Applied Sciences Act.
All degree students of Laurea University of Applied Sciences may apply for membership and deputy membership of the examination board. The application must indicate the applicant’s expected date of graduation. In addition, we hope that applicants will show an interest in the legal protection of students and the development of higher education. The student representative is supported by the Student Union of Laurea University of Applied Sciences Laureamko.
Curriculum reform and pedagogy development group
Laureamko is seeking one student representative for the Curriculum Reform and Pedagogy Development Group. The student representative will complement the student representation on the development group with a member of the Laureamko Board and a specialist.
The Curriculum Reform and Pedagogy Development Group will coordinate and guide:
- Laurea-wide curriculum reform.
- The development of delivery modes that respond to students’ needs and support development-based learning.
- The development of student-centred guidance and support for the development of teaching skills.
- Reform of data-driven, demand-driven provision.
Long-term commitment, i.e. a two (2) year commitment to the development team is seen as an advantage. However, the term of office of the student representative is elected annually for a calendar year, i.e. the term of office of the student representative is 1.1.2025-31.12.2025.
The application period for the position is 22.11.-11.12.2024. Laureamko Board will choose the representative at their board meeting on 18th of December. All applicants will be informed of the decision during week 51.
