Laureamko believes that tuition fees should not be charged.

– Students are the only segment, which will have to support themselves through a loan. The decision to charge annual fees of EUR 1500 is unreasonable. In 2011, Sweden introduced the tuition fees and the number of foreign students dropped by half immediately. Is this what we want? President of the Board Anni Suvisuo wonders.

– Now, when tuition fees are to come, should they be taking full advantage of the tax deductibility of Finland earned income and capital tax purposes after the student’s graduation. This setting an extra inspiration to stay and work in Finland. Higher education institutions must create a clear scholarship program, Suvisuo requires.

Finnish or Swedish education fees will not be charged, regardless of nationality.
