With the departure of Pivo, Laurea had to look for an alternative for meal authentication. Laurea had the choice between Tuudo and Slice, and decided on Tuudo. In this situation, Laurea offered Laureamko the opportunity to obtain a student card linked to Laureamko membership at Tuudo, with Laurea bearing the cost. Laureamko’s management team considered this to be an operational matter, and as a result the matter was discussed at a Board meeting. The Board decided to support this possibility at its meeting last Thursday 12.9.2024. Tuudo announced 17.9. that the final adjustments to the student card have been completed and Tuudo now has a student card linked to Laureamko membership. So what does this mean?
- Tuudo has a student card linked to membership of Laureamko, which is the official student ID everywhere.
- Members need to activate the card separately. You will find a card insert in the menu, which instructs you how to activate the card the first time you open it
- To activate your student card, simply add a photo of yourself to Tuudo and your student card will be ready for use
- There is also a meal authentication card in the Tuudo, which is visible to all Laurea students other than members. This card is ONLY valid in student restaurants, not elsewhere.
- The activation of the meal card is the same as the activation of the student card
- Both cards have a qr-code feature, which can be used e.g. at automatic cash registers that have to check student status, e.g. at the canteen on the Tikkurila campus.
- Meal authentication are visible to all members as part of the student card, so members do not need a separate meal authentication card.
-
Laureamko members should continue to download Slice so that they can use all of Slice’s nationwide student benefits.
